District Manager Report OCTOBER 11, 2007 |
| District Audit |
|
The District Audit for Calendar Year 2006 has been submitted to the State Auditor’s office by James Maiser for their review and approval. When the State Auditor’s office notifies Maiser that they have completed their review he will send out final copies. Also we need to sign a representation letter which states that we have made available to him all records and information he needed to perform the audit. He has submitted an invoice of $1500.00. He did not find any internal control items that needed reporting. He did change the way the Clean Water Partnership Funds were reported in our year end report. |
|
Natural Resources Block Grant (NRBG) Application |
|
The NRBG Block Grant Application was completed by the District in July. However due to an increase in Feedlot Grant dollars we will need to submit the grant application again. The Feedlot Grant for 2008 is $68,713 – which is an increase of $4587.00. |
|
State Convention |
|
Cathy Thiesse and Steve Flohrs are on the Convention Planning Committee and Duane Petrowiak is also involved in the planning since he is the Treasurer. At the October 16th MACDE meeting the employees are going to be choosing items for the Sunday night get together and breakfast for Monday and Tuesday. |
| Minnesota Water Resources Conference |
| Rich has registered for this conference which is held at the University of Minnesota on October 23rd and 24th. This is a conference that all water planners should attend. |
| 1986 Diesel Pickup |
| The 1986 diesel was sold and title was transferred on 9/27/07. The District received $1500.00 for the pickup. |
| Environmental Awareness Day |
| We had a successful day at Cedar Park. We did postpone to our rain date of Thursday, 9/7 and we were glad we did. The weather was nice. We did send letters to all the conservation organizations in the county requesting donations for the Raptor Center Presentation ($580.00). Pheasants Forever sent a check for $100.00 and the South Silver Lakes Association contributed $50.00. |
| Economic Interest Statements |
| The Martin SWCD has three supervisors that have their Economic Interest Statements filed and two with statements pending. |
| Respectfully submitted, |
