The
Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP), is a
federal-state natural resources conservation partnership
with a goal of protecting 18,000 acres of environmentally
sensitive lands in Southwest Minnesota. Participants
voluntarily enroll eligible land in both USDA's Conservation
Reserve Program (CRP) and the state's Re-invest in Minnesota
(RIM) program. Upon acceptance into the program,
participants are eligible to receive financial incentives
from both CRP and RIM for removing marginal cropland from
agricultural production and converting the land to native
grasses, trees and other native vegetation. |

CREP
rates have increased around the State and for Martin County
they are now from (946.32 to $1,453.71 per acre for the
INITIAL RIM payment - depending on the township.
In addition, there will be 15 annual payment based on your
soil rental rate for that specific area. |
