2007 MARTIN COUNTY'S OUTSTANDING CONSERVATIONISTS

Congratulations to Darwin and Beverly Anthony for serving as Martin County's Outstanding Conservationists for 2007.

 Darwin and Beverly Anthony operate both of their family farms that have been in their families  since the 1880’s.  Over the years, they have enrolled land in the RIM and the CREP Programs.    They have restored 12.7 acres of wetlands, planted native grasses and forbs, and planted hundreds of trees for wildlife and wind erosion purposes.  They participate in the CSP Program and the EQIP Program on their crop acres.

 

Darwin is a gifted artist and writer and uses his talents to share his love of nature with his family, friends and community.  The Anthony’s demonstrate a deep appreciation of the past, a strong commitment to address current issues, and the vision and wisdom to sow a crop for future generations.
 
2006 MARTIN COUNTY'S OUTSTANDING CONSERVATIONISTS

Congratulations to Anne and Roger Bentz for being Martin County's Outstanding Conservationists for 2006.

2005 Winner:  Lawrence and Diane Sukalski and their family were selected as Martin SWCD’s 2005 Conservationist of the Year.

 

Each year the Martin SWCD recognizes local individuals, groups or conservation organizations for implementing outstanding conservation practices and improving Martin County’s natural resources.
