EQIP   (Environmental Quality Incentive Program)

  • We had requests for 26 application packets for 2008 EQIP and received 15 applications back. 
  • November Contracts
    • 7 contracts
    • $88,744 in funding with 2462.6 acres treated
    • Pest Management (2), Nutrient Management, Windbreak, Ridge Tillage, Well decommissioning, Strip Tillage (3)
  • December Contracts
    • 2 contracts
    • $22,843 in funding with 1312.7 acres treated
    • Well decommissioning, Strip Tillage
    • 1 more application waiting for approval
  • January Contracts
    • 5 contracts
    • $81,360 waiting to be funded with 2802 acres being treated
    • Well decommissioning (2), 50% Mulch residue (2), Pest management (2), Nutrient Management, Grass Waterway, Strip Tillage
 
 
CSP    (Conservation Security Program)
  • All CSP payments were paid by February 1, 2008.
  • 44 contracts will be done after the 2008 growing season.
  • 4 contracts were cancelled and 1 contract was terminated.
 
CRP   (Conservation Reserve Program)
  • CRP signup will continue through March 15, 2008.
 

Okamanpeedan Watershed

  • Meeting was held January 14th at 12:00 pm with the NRCS Water Resource Staff from St. Paul.  Martin County, Jackson County, and Emmet County (Iowa) NRCS/SWCD representatives were also in attendance. 
  • Water Resource Staff would like to complete Rapid Watershed Assessment for the watershed and then meet in March to discuss findings.
 
Wetlands
  • 156 wetland determinations have been made for FY 2008
