District Conservationist Report

EQIP   (Environmental Quality Incentive Program)
  • EQIP 1st signup is November 1 – November 30, 2007
  • EQIP 2nd signup is January 1 — February 1, 2008
  • We have received 8 applications asking for funding for around $97,000.
 
CSP    (Conservation Security Program)
  • 2008 payments can now be made. 
  • I have held interviews with 60 producers to date.
  • All CSP payments need to be paid by February 1, 2008.
  • There will be no more modifications for 2004 Tier I contracts.
 
CRP   (Conservation Reserve Program)
  • FSA has been told that we cannot accept CCRP applications after December 1st until they know what is included in the new farm bill.
 
Wetlands
  • 65 wetland determinations have been made for FY 2008
