District Manager Report

2008 Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund  - LCCMR

Rich and I testified before the LCCMR on October 15th in St. Paul for the Permanent Buffer Initiative and the Prairie Ecosystem Restoration Project.  We were notified last week that the Prairie Project has been funded in the amount of $80,000.00 and the Buffer Initiative was not funded.

 

Natural Resources Block Grant (NRBG) Application

The application for NRBG Funds has been entered into the eLink Program. This grant includes Feedlot, Septic, Water Plan and WCA Funds. Agreements from BWSR will be sent out to Martin County for signatures.

 

Ag BMP Training

Training will be held on December 6th in Redwood Falls by Dwight Wilcox, Department of Ag.  We are working with GBERBA to apply for Clean Water Legacy Funds for additional Ag BMP $’s.
 

Performance Reviews

Annual performance reviews will be held for all employees before December 1st.  The District Personnel Committee will need to review these performance reviews and also conduct a performance review for the District Manager.

 

Clean Water Partnership

We have advertised for the position of Clean Water Partnership Coordinator.  We advertised in the Sentinel, posted the job vacancy state-wide with the MASWCD, on the MACDE web site, the Minnesota Job Site and a site called SEEK.  At this time we only have six applications.  The deadline for applications in Friday, November 9th.

 

South Silver Lake Association Presentation

Rich did a presentation for the South Silver Lake Association on a Saturday in October.

 

Martin County Visitors Guide

Cathy was invited to write an article for next year’s visitor guide.  The article starts with some of our history and then mentions some of our programs.
