District Manager Report JANUARY 9, 2008 |
2007 Year End |
| I have begun the process of closing the 2007 books. It is a lengthy process. The reports are due at the BWSR office March 15th. W-2’s should be completed this week for both supervisors and staff. |
2008 Annual Plan |
A meeting has been set up for January 22nd for review of the 2007 Annual Plan and revisions for the 2008 Annual Plan. A draft of the 2008 Annual Plan should be ready for review at the February 13th Board meeting. It is due at the BWSR office by March 15th. |
2006 Audit |
We received the final 2006 Audit Report from James Maiser, CPA. Evidently the reports were held up at the State Auditors office. Mr. Maiser changed the way I was reporting CWP Funds, but it will not make any difference in the final figures. |
District Computers |
NRCS has notified the District that they will only supply one computer for the District. There is a committee that has been formed made up of District employees, MASWCD staff and others. Hopefully, they will find options that we will be able to utilize. Our computers will need to be changed to our own system by September 1, 2008. |
Rodney and Lucile Tow |
Duane Petrowiak and I met with Terry Viesselman, County Attorney on January 8, 2008 concerning the Lucile and Rodney Tow bill. I consulted with LeAnn Buck, MASWCD and Scott Higgins, Martin County Coordinator and discussed the State Statute that directs the County Attorney to provide legal counsel for the District. |
NRBG Grant Agreements |
BWSR has not sent the 2008 NRBG Grant Agreements for signatures by the County Commissioners. This means they have not received their funds. |
AG BMP Program |
The Department of Agriculture will be sending out the 2007 Annual Report and 2008 Application in the next week. We will be working with Mark Stoffel, Welcome State Bank to complete the report and application |
Clean Water Legacy Funds |
| GBERBA submitted a large application for CWL funds. Included in the request was additional Ag BMP Program funds for the District. It will be announced in January 23rd where the funds were allocated. |
BERBI |
| The District received $2202.84 from BERBI for our share of the remaining BERBI Funds. It was received after the 1st so it will be in January receipts. |
| Respectfully submitted, |
| Kathy Smith |
