KSUM/KFMC SPRING EXPO - Friday-Sunday, March 11-13, 2011, at Five Lakes Centre, Fairmont, MN.  Learn about current programs and assistance (if applicable), how to save on water, improve water quality, provide habitat ,etc.  Stop by and register for workshop incentives to attend the Metro Blooms workshop March 31,2011.
Martin County Water Plan Advisory Committee Meeting - March 29, 2011 at Martin SWCD office, 923 N. State Street, Suite 110, Fairmont, MN, 7 pm - 9 pm.  A draft of Priorities that were identified at the January 27, 2011 will be discussed.  Meeting open to the Public.
Metro Blooms Rain Garden Workshop - March 31, 2011, at Five Lakes Elementary, Fairmont, MN, 6pm - 9pm.  This workshop will cover the basics on planning, implementing and maintaining a rain garden.    Pre-Registration is required please call Becky at 651 699-2426 or email:  www.metroblooms.org.  No Cost to attend.  A minimum of 12 participants is required. 
Conservation in Your Backyard - April 7, 2011, Five Lakes Elementary, Fairmont, MN, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.  This workshop will discuss options on keeping the "rain drop where it falls" by using rain gardens, rain barrels, native vegetation, composting, etc.  Handouts will be available.  Call CER to pre-register at 507 235-3141.  Cost is $4.00 per person and $6.00 per couple. 
Conservation and Your Water Quality -  April 11, 2011.  Five Lakes Elementary, Fairmont, MN, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.  Learn about your carbon footprint and its affect our our environment.  Participants will discover lakescaping, rain gardening, low impact development and other conservation techniques that bring functionality to your yard and community while improving the quality of your water and life for your generation and the next!  Call CER to pre-register at 507 235-3141.  Cost is $4.00 per person and $6.00 per couple. 
Truman Rain Garden Tour and Workshop - May 14, 2011, Truman High School, Truman, MN, 9 am - 12 pm.  Tour successful rain gardens rain or shine located within the Truman and surrounding areas.  Meet at the High School at 9 am to car pool to sites.  Participants will learn about building a rain garden from start to finish.  Participants are encouraged to send pictures of sites or call for a site visit prior to the meeting for more hands-on experience in developing the plans during the class.  For a site visit call 507 235-6680, ask for Cat.  Or email pictures to cathy.thiesse@mn.nacdnet.net.  Call Nadine at CER to pre-register at 507 776-2134.  Cost is $4.00 per person and $6.00 per couple.
